๐ŸŽš๏ธ Gain Staging

Set and balance signal levels across your mix.

How gain structure works on a digital mixer: Think of it in two stages.
โ€ข Stage 1 โ€” Preamp (Gain knob): This is where the microphone signal gets amplified into the console. Set this so the meter shows a healthy signal โ€” not too quiet, not clipping. A good starting point is aiming for peaks around the middle of the green zone on the SQ-7's channel meter.
โ€ข Stage 2 โ€” Fader (the big moving fader): This controls the channel's level in the mix. Keep it near the "U" (unity) mark. If you're pushing a fader all the way up to hear a channel, the preamp gain is too low.
โ€ข Why it matters: Proper gain staging means your EQ and dynamics work correctly, you have enough headroom to prevent distortion, and your monitors stay feedback-free.

๐Ÿ“Š Frequency Analyzer

Live RTA โ€” runs in background, summarizes problem frequencies.

How to use: Start the analyzer and let it run for 60 seconds while audio plays through the system. The summary below updates every 20 seconds, showing the top 5 most frequently peaking frequencies. These are your problem zones โ€” not just a loud moment, but recurring patterns that indicate buildup or feedback risk.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Tip for Room EQ: Place this device at your main listening position (center of congregation, ear height) โ€” the same spot you'd place a reference mic. The analyzer captures what that position hears.

๐Ÿ”€ Signal Routing

Add or remove inputs, group buses, and output mixes. Assign channels freely.

Output Mixes

These are your physical output destinations (speakers, monitors). Each channel or group routes to one or more of these.

Group Buses

Groups let you control multiple channels together (e.g. Choir Group). A group itself routes to output mixes.

Input Channels

Add, remove, or reassign any input channel. Group assignment and output mixes are editable per channel.
